These were some of my favorite projects to work on in NBCUniversal!
See below for the explanations of each project:
LINK #1: This first project required me to apply my Adobe Creative Cloud skills to bring a Vanderpump Rules Reunion episode to life on social media. Using Frame.io and Premiere pro, I downloaded and clipped select videos from the original episodes and edited them for conciseness and engagement. Additionally, I attached logos to the clips to highlight Andy’s sharp commentary. After creating the content, I developed and pitched a list of captions to my team — one of which made the final cut.
LINK #2: Separately, I had the opportunity to create content for Hart to Heart, a TV show where host Kevin Hart invites A-list talent to engage in unfiltered conversation. More specifically, I reviewed, clipped, and pitched social media content for an episode featuring J. Cole. To organize the options available, I created and maintained an excel tracker to detail clip lengths, content, and potential captions. After creating a few versions and undergoing feedback sessions with my team, the clips were posted and performed well across platforms, with the TikTok version garnering over 6 million views and 160k likes alone.
LINK #3: Developing and pitching ideas is one of my strengths, and I’d like to share the details of the proudest idea I’ve brought to life. A few years ago, there was a trending CapCut edit of Bill Hader dancing in a SNL sketch. However, most audience members didn’t realize where the clip originated. I proposed we post the original SNL sketch clip, and worked with my manager to execute quickly and efficiently. The video ended up garnering over 8 million views and 400k likes. Not only was this TikTok one of my memorable achievements, but it also helped me develop confidence in pitching ideas to leaders and emphasized the importance of staying on top of macro / micro trends.
LINK #4: This following clip is a similar concept to my Bill Hader video, and it includes an audio from the movie Sharktales. Because the audio had , we posted the actual scene from the movie to TikTok, which received over 300k views and 30k+ likes. This specific project was one of the first copywriting projects I was tasked with, and it taught me the sheer importance of developing and selecting relatable and relevant copy in the content creation process.
LINK #5: it’s important for people within the social media field to be on top of new and emerging trends and participate in them while they are still relevant. I strive to always practice a keen awareness and external perspective in my career. Truthfully, the most useful tactic is often the simplest. Mine was to scroll on my ‘For You Page’ at home and jot down ideas that I could apply to Peacock. Whether it be audios we could use or starting a new trend of our own, I was committed to personalizing trends to our brand. Additionally, I would analyze competitors’ social medias and build competitive analysis document weekly to determine areas of opportunities and differentiation. Eager for our “Trending Newsletter” meeting every Tuesday, I excitedly announced ideas I brainstormed throughout the weekend and recorded feedback from my team. I combined an iconic song from one of Peacock’s popular franchises with a clip from American Psycho to cater to both franchises audiences and attract new ones.
